Just because you’re alone doesn’t mean you can’t be
productive and beautiful. The old wild orchard is
more luscious and mysterious than the commercial
one. Trees grow and blossom profusely. The fallen
fruit is windfall to those most in need – the gleaners,
the birds, the wanderer. The shade is spread and more
shelter is provided by the rich, overlooked trees. Sometimes
our most valuable gifts and finest accomplishments
come late in life or go unobserved. The abandoned
orchard is serene and mature. Its only sadness is
for those who left it behind or don’t observe it.
